The Face Behind Simplicity By Design

Her dream became a reality while working for Ikamva Architects where she worked her way up to running their Interior Design department Ikamva Interiors.  Involved in a number of various types of projects from corporate offices, retail outlets to residential homes. With interior decorating and CAD courses completed as well as hands on experience in the design field she qualified as a Professional Interior Designer and member of the IID – The African Institute of Interior Design Professions in 2010.

Her flagship project being the East London IDZ Head Office and Social Pavilion which was completed in 2010 while working for Ikamva Architects.  For this project her services included realistic rendered 3D views presented to the Client along with sample boards, a full set of interior working drawings & schedules and regular site inspections.

January of 2014, she put her career on hold and resigned from her position at Ikamva Architects to be at home with her two children full time for those first few precious yet challenging years.

After being at home for just over a year and out of the game so to speak, she was delighted to get those design juices flowing again and designed and project managed major renovations to their own home.

Since its inception in 2019 Simplicity by Design has undertaken a number of design projects. From smaller one room make overs to extensive home renovations where the houses were completely gutted and transformed. Glendene prides herself in simple, yet aesthetically pleasing designs which are well thought out with careful consideration to practical functionality.
